Workato Named a Leader for the 4th Year Running in the 2021 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™

Written by Tony O’Neill | Oct 15, 2021 7:00:00 AM

For the fourth year running, Workato has held onto its position as a leader in Gartner’s Enterprise iPaaS Magic Quadrant. According to Gartner’s report, leaders have a deep understanding of the Enterprise iPaaS market, demonstrated both by the innovativeness of their offerings and the strength and reliability of their execution. Through this, they influence the direction of the market and attract a loyal following.

To assess the range of providers operating in this sphere, Gartner analyses them against a set of criteria that positions them along two axes: Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute.

The Completeness of Vision axis offers an indication of how innovative a vendor is, whether they drive or follow market trends and whether they have a clear and accurate vision for the future of the market.

The Ability to Execute axis is informed by factors like the financial viability of a company, the number of clients, resellers, and/or distributors it has, the number of employees it has, and the distribution of those employees among the different branches of the company.

Gartner has been publishing industry-specific Magic Quadrants since 1994. With a standard set of criteria and a consistent methodology underpinning this analytical tool, Gartner is able to offer both instant snapshots and in-depth analyses of each market and its major players.

While no single tool or report can cover every angle of insight needed by investors, clients, and other stakeholders, Gartner’s high-quality, independent research is still an indispensable means of understanding the ever-changing facets of the rapidly advancing IT market.

The 2021 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Enterprise iPaaS

Leaders know how to balance the needs of the present moment against their vision for the future, allowing them to solve problems and deliver what clients need now while also predicting, preparing for, and shaping the future of the industry. You don’t have to look far to find evidence of this in Workato’s offerings.

The enterprise automation platform recently launched its innovative automation accelerators. These pre-packaged solutions offer an easy way to manage and customise your enterprise automation. Through observation of industry trends and ongoing consultation with customers and partners, Workato plans to release a growing library of accelerators with industry-specific and business-area-specific packages soon to come.

This leads neatly back into Gartner’s iPaaS report, which states that leaders in Enterprise iPaaS can be recognised by their drive to ceaselessly expand their capabilities and address new business problems as they arise. Their platforms are functionally rich and cohesive, supported by a powerful network of partners and regular updates that address customer needs as they emerge.

Once again, Workato’s position as a leader is easily demonstrated. One of many examples is its partnership with UiPath, another Gartner Magic Quadrant leader but in the realm of RPA.

Workato’s platform already provides a middle ground from which seamless integrations can be created and deployed either entirely within the cloud or between the cloud and enterprise applications. It empowers users to develop automated workflows that connect applications without the need for additional software or programming.

Together, UiPath and Workato have created a connector that allows workflows to move seamlessly from API-based automation to RPA and back again, with no coding needed to handle the transition between the two. This demonstrated understanding of the power of partnerships and interoperability is a significant contributing factor to Workato’s position as an Enterprise iPaaS industry leader.
